Viewpoint Drawings

These drawings — like the Recall and Reveal series — were each made during a single day in August. They use a remembered moment, place or experience as the starting point for an open-ended drawing in colour.

Each is made with  water soluble wax pastels, which allows great flexibility to the process as well as vibrant controlled colour.

The drawings are a chance to experiment; each is a different viewpoint taken from my daily surroundings – our house with its doors and windows onto a garden, the village where we live on the edge of the Chiltern escarpment, visits to Oxford and so on.

The bulk of the work in this series was originally posted on social media platform Bluesky as part of #drawingaugust.

The drawings can be purchased – please make any enquiries using this form.
